Rolling Coal at a Toyota PriusRolling Coal: A Political Statement Hits Our Nation's Roads

That disgusting black smoke you see to your right is this truck owner's unique way of making a political statement that he doesn't agree with the current US Presidential Administration's policies. Rolling Coal, as it's called, is more often than not directed toward eco-friendly symbols like the Toyota Prius. Interesting (or terrible...) way of making your opinion known, eh?

2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Ultimate Edition 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser - Autoblog Quick Spin

We'll be said to see this one leave the market. In case you didn't know, 2014 marks the swan song for the Toyota FJ Cruiser, leaving the Jeep Wrangler to hold the mantle mostly uncontested as the most off-road-oriented stock vehicle from a major automaker in the US. As Jonathon Ramsey said, "The FJ Cruiser is poised to join a long list of vehicles that got better and better, then got axed."

Want a Tucker Torpedo? Will This Do Instead? Tucker Torpedo Replica prototype

The car to your right is most definitely not a 1946 Tucker Torpedo. Underneath the somewhat wacky bodywork sits a 1971 Buick Riviera, a cult classic in its own right. It's kind of crazy, sort of cool in a weird way, and undeniably unique. If that kind of thing is your bag, baby, feel free to bid - it's currently up for auction on eBay.

Dodge CEO and Gas Monkey Garage dissect the 10-second Challenger Hellcat

Dodge Challenger Hellcat Drag Race

So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.

Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. ?Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. However, you have to watch film to see just how quick it actually goes. Scroll down to see a classic example of American muscle drag racing against its modern legacy.

Harley-Davidson calls in 66k Touring bikes for brake line problems

Harley-Davidson Touring

Most of the recalls we cover involve four-wheeled automobiles - and most of those these days have come from General Motors, at that - but every once in a while a motorcycle recall comes across our desks that's just too substantial to ignore. This is one of those recalls.

Harley-Davidson has announced a recall of 66,421 of its motorcycles. The units in question are from the Touring and CVO Touring series, specifically those equipped with ABS brakes and manufactured between July 1, 2013, and May 7, 2014. The problem apparently revolves around an improperly installed front brake line that's prone to be pinched between the tank and the frame, increasing fluid pressure in the brake line and potentially causing the front wheel to lock up. Which sounds like it would be bad enough in a car, but that much worse on a motorbike.

As a result, the Motor Company is notifying owners to have their local dealer inspect their iron horses for potential damage and, in addition to replacing any damaged brake line, fit an extra cable strap or two to prevent it from sliding between the frame and the fuel tank. Delve into the recall notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a full list of specific models affected.

Power Rankings: The only driver that can unseat Jimmie Johnson? Jimmie Johnson

Our Power Rankings are far from a scientific formula. In fact, it's the perfect blend of analytics and bias against your favorite driver. And you think we dislike your favorite driver, so it makes sense, right? Direct all your complaints to us at happyhourmailbag@yahoo.com.

1. Jimmie Johnson (LW: 1): Only a true Vader-hater could make a case for Johnson dropping from the top spot after his Michigan win on Sunday. While it's impressive that Johnson was able to cross Michigan off the list of tracks he hadn't won at, it's imperative to also remember that he hasn't exactly been terrible there. He just has had some crappy luck. He had no such crappy luck on Sunday.

2. Dale Earnhardt Jr. (LW: 2): After finishing seventh, Junior said his team should have finished three or four spots better than they did. And he's probably right. He had a top-five car but as the strategy wheel spun around int he final third of the race, Junior's need for tires put him back in the pack. But hey, he's disappointed about a seventh place finish, just like another driver coming up soon was disappointed about getting second.

3. Jeff Gordon (LW: 3): We'll also continue the theme with Gordon, who said he felt sixth place wasn't indicative of the car that he had on Sunday. But guess what? That fabled track position reared its ugly head and Gordon never head it. Track position has always been a factor at Michigan, but without significant tire wear, its importance is expontially more than it once was. We're starting to move forward with our ideas for the Sandpaper Titan to manually age tracks. We'll be like the anti-Neutrogena wrinkle cream of NASCAR.

4. Kevin Harvick (LW: 4): Our From the Marbles sources told us that Harvick was singing this on the entire flight home from Michigan. "Clap along if you feel like second really stinks. Because I?m not happy. Clap along if you feel like happiness is a win. Because I'm not happy. Clap along if you know why I was really mad. Because I?m not happy. Clap along if you feel like I should have five or six wins."

5. Brad Keselowski (LW: 5): This is a really, really, really boring top five this week. That's what happens when the top five drivers finish in the top six. After the race, Keselowski (who finished third), said that the Hendrick-powered cars were a full-season ahead on horsepower compared to the rest of the field. It was clear on Sunday, as they led 163 of the race's 200 laps. Is the only thing that could derail their advantage anytime soon a significant engine format change for 2015?

6. Joey Logano (LW: 8): We needed to shake things up and this was about as shaky as we could get. Logano finished ninth and led 29 laps, though none of them were after lap 141, when he was passed by Kevin Harvick for the lead. It's becoming more and more clear that if there's a team and program able to compete with the Hendrick cars (and Kevin Harvick) for the title, it's Team Penske.

7. Matt Kenseth (LW: 6): Kenseth's relative lack of intermediate track speed is a symbol of how JGR feels they're a bit behind. And we say relative simply because when compared side-to-side, the only thing that's striking is his lack of wins. At non-restrictor plate Darlington-sized tracks and above this year he's finished 10th, 4th, 7th, 4th 10th, 3rd and 14th. Last year at those same tracks he was 1st, 7th, 12th, 1st, 1st, 15th and 6th.

8. Kyle Larson (LW: 10): Did Larson inspire a new wave of potential bumper damage for benefit with his Michigan performance? Rear-bumper damage isn't exactly groundbreaking (See Knaus, Chad at Talladega in 2011), but maybe Larson's run to eighth will usher in a new trend of purposeful spins necessitating a demolition of the back bumper cover. (Are you lost after reading the above graph? After spinning on lap 7, Larson had damage to the back bumper that could have been beneficial in terms of downforce and being able to create more speed.)

9. Paul Menard (LW: NR): Win a Nationwide race and finish fourth? Welcome to Power Rankings, PFM. After finishing third at Las Vegas and his Sunday finish at Michigan, Menard has the only top-fives for Richard Childress Racing all season. But they've been damn consistent. If the Chase started today, Menard and Ryan Newman would both be in and Austin Dillon would be just nine points out.

10. Jamie McMurray (LW: 10): Speaking of bumpers, McMurray didn't have a rear bumper at Pocono. Maybe this is a Ganassi thing? His car was intact on Sunday and he finished 12th. For as good as McMurray has looked in stretches this year, he's in a position where he's going to need a win to get to the Chase.

11. Carl Edwards (LW: 7): Sunday, the first time since 2000 that no Roush cars finished in the top 10 at Michigan. How crazy is that? Greg Biffle was 20th, Edwards was 23rd and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was 27th. If you're one of the people wondering if Edwards' finishes and his team's speed are impacting his contract negotiations, well, you're probably leaning towards a different team for 2015 at the moment.

12. Kasey Kahne (LW: NR): Is this the finish that gets Kasey Kahne going? His season has been abysmal, especially when compared to his teammates occupying the top three positions in the points stadings. But he's won before at Sonoma, run well at Kentucky and won at New Hampshire. He's got a good stretch coming up.

Lucky Dog: The third-highest finishing Ford at Michigan? Juan Pablo Montoya in his first NASCAR race of the year.

The DNF: A problem on the left-rear hub meant a 41st-place finish for Kyle Busch.

Dropped out: Busch, Denny Hamlin

Students target Nrburgring record with hybrid racing prototype

InMotion IM01

We talk about Nürburgring lap records all the time around here, but they're always qualified by some category or another: for production cars, for sedans, for front-drive hatchbacks... But nobody talks about the all-out record very much.

In qualifying for the Nürburgring 1000 km race in 1983, Stefan Bellof recorded a lap time of 6:11 in his Porsche 956. It was the fastest anyone had ever made it around the Nordschleife, and the fastest anyone has since - largely because top-level racing series don't compete at the Nordschleife anymore, and the last couple of Formula One cars to complete a lap were driving at a relative snail's pace for demonstration and nostalgic purposes alone. But a group of students in Europe are out to beat that record. And this is the car with which they aim to do so.

It's called the IM01, and it's the work of students at the Technical University of Eindhoven and the Fontys University of Applied Sciences, both in the Netherlands. They call their collective InMotion, and their design calls for a hybrid racing prototype looks like a cross between an F1 car and a Le Mans prototype, with a dose of Red Bull X2014 and Caparo T1 thrown in for good measure.

Underneath the sleek, no-holds-barred bodywork sit four individual electric motors (one in each wheel) with a rotary engine to serve as a range extender. It's got a canopy greenhouse, covered wheels, a blown rear diffuser and about as much ground clearance as a puddle of oil on the floor of a garage.

Though they haven't revealed any actual specifications for their designs, the students evidently hope it'll prove fast enough to knock Bellof and his thirty-year-old Porsche off the top of the leaderboard. That's assuming, of course, the project actually works and is authorized to run on the 'Ring, after which they hope to get similar approval from the FIA and ACO to run it at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the same Garage 56 slot that was previously awarded to the DeltaWing and Nissan ZEOD RC hybrid racing prototypes.

After driver dies last year, Aston Martin team takes 24 Hours of Le Mans class title

Last year in the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans race, Aston Martin driver Allen Simonsen crashed on his fourth lap of the race and was killed.

This year, his team won the race.

The No. 95 Aston Martin Young Driver AMR V8 Vantage GTE won the GTE Am class by two laps at the famed French circuit. The race began Saturday morning in the United States and ended Sunday morning.

We have achieved what we were aiming for last year but didn't succeed,? owner Jan Struve said (via Motorsport.com). ?We have now fulfilled it and we know that Allan has been cheering for us and smiling down on us and, of course, he has been in our thoughts. This win is extremely important to us and I'm proud of all of the team and drivers. They are all Le Mans winners.?

The No. 95 was driven in 2014 by David Heinemeier Hansson, Nicki Thiim and Kristian Poulsen.

Former F1 driver Mark Webber's team was forced to retire from the race in its final stages. As Webber prepared to pilot the Porsche to the finish, the engine had issues. Audi finished 1-2 for the manufacturer's 13th overall victory in the race.

Webber was replaced at Red Bull Renault in F1 by Daniel Ricciardo, who got his first win at Montreal last week. Ricciardo drives the No. 3 car in Formula 1 as a tribute to Dale Earnhardt.

Jimmie Johnson gets second straight win with Dover domination

Jimmie Johnson had two late caution flags to deal with, but neither got in the way of his customary Dover excellence as he pulled away from Brad Keselowski on a restart with four laps to go to win his ninth race in 25 tries at Dover.

Oh, and it's his second straight win of the season. Told you that any "winless streak" chatter was a bunch of bunk.

After starting fourth, Johnson was never far from the front of the field and was the clear driver to beat after polesitter Kyle Busch retired because of a crash. From then on, while drivers like Kevin Harvick and Matt Kenseth spent some time at the front of the field, no one had a consistently good car like Johnson did.

It was a new car too, and one that crew chief Chad Knaus had faith in.

"He told me I'd love the car, and sure enough, we unloaded and he was right," Johnson said.

The only thing that might have gotten in his way was a Dover pothole. But instead of claiming Johnson, the chunk of concrete took out the front splitter of Jamie McMurray's car and stopped the race for over 20 minutes as track workers had to patch the hole.

Johnson was driving away from the field when a caution came out for debris with 35 laps to go. Johnson took four tires and restarted second behind Clint Bowyer, but made short work of him and ran away from the field once again.

When debris from a shredded tire from Casey Mears' car brought out the final caution, the drivers behind Johnson had yet another shot at him. But while it looked like Johnson glided through the final four laps, Keselowski pushed hard to no avail. He couldn't get close enough to the No. 48 to make a pass.

At one point in the second half of the race, all four of the Hendrick Motorsports cars were in the top five. However, Johnson was the only one to finish there. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was ninth, Jeff Gordon was 14th and Kasey Kahne was 19th.

Because of Gordon's finish, Kenseth, who finished third, takes over the points lead, two ahead of Gordon.
